Cheap&Chic Vol I.

New Section! It was either Cheap&Chic or The Clone War. By now, you can figure out what its going to be about. Sometimes we fall in love with the last it bag or any other it-thing we desperately need and a) we cant afford it b) if we can afford it, we don't want to spend that much in something that will be outdated by next season. Because of that, we should be grateful for fast fashion retailers, that might not be as exclusive, but equally effective. ¡Nueva Sección! Pensaba llamarla Cheap&Chip o la Guerra de los Clones, así que ya os hacéis a la idea de que va a tratar. Todas nos hemos enamorado alguna vez del it-bag del momento o de cualquier otra cosa-it que necesitamos desesperadamente pero a) no nos llega b) nos llega, pero no queremos gastar tanto en algo que la próxima temporada estará pasado. Por ello, deberíamos estar agradecidas por las cadenas de moda, que quizás no sean tan exclusivas pero son igualmente efectivas.

I'm opening this section with Isabel Marant, that is still one of the most imitated season after season. This time, her burgundy leather pants make a splash. You can get away with them for 1700€ or less than 50€ if you pick a similar pair in Zara or Stradivarius. They are half way between leather pants and vinyl leggings, they have some kind of varnish effect. I got myself the pair from Stradivarius,the touch is very nice, they feel soft and not that plastic touch you get sometimes. I love the fit but they might be too tight for some people. Abrimos con Isabel Marant, de las más copiadas temporada sí y temporada también. Esta vez, son sus pantalones de piel burdeos los que causan sensación. Pueden ser tuyos por 1700 € o menos de 50€ por cortesía de Amancio. De Pablo, perdón. Tienen efecto barnizado, están a medio camino entre los pantalones de piel y los leggins de vinilo de la temporada pasada. Yo me he comprado los de Stradivarius, y os digo que el tacto es genial, son suaves no te dan esa sensación plasticosa, aunque pueden quedar demasiado apretados -eso al gusto de cada uno- De los de Zara puedo decir poco porque no los encontré.

More Marant. The fringe boots can be found in Zara and Stradivarius as well. If you are looking for an almost perfect clone, id suggest Stradivarius but if you just want a pair of inspired boots, go with Zara.

H&M Fall 2011

Im starting to feel excited about winter stuff! Here is the new look book from H&M featured by familiar faces in the swedish company, Sasha, Frida and Karlie. This fall the minimalism clothing will continue as well as camel tones. Even tho I'm not ready yet to face the fact they might be back, elephant pants will likely get some prominence among stores this season. Have a look at the cute hats, gloves and coat/cape -not the largest one which I doubt is flattering for anyone- I am hoping to see some more shoes soon because these are all disappointing. Frida's shoes reminds of Prada a lot. What I loved the most? Karlie's orange blouse, Frida's white dress. I also had the chance to have a look at the last pieces of jewelry and they look ah-mazing!!! Ya empiezo a tener entusiasmo por las cositas de invierno! Aquí os dejo el nuevo lookbook de H&M, protagonizado por caras conocidas en la casa sueca, Sasha, Frida y Karlie. Este invierno continuamos con el minimalismo y los tonos camel. Aunque aún no este preparada para asumir que podrían estar de vuelta, los pantalones de pata de elefante probablemente adquieran protagonismo en las tiendas esta temporada. Echad un vistazo a los gorros, guantes y el abrigo/capa, monísimos -excepto el largo, que dudo que le siente bien a nadie- Espero que podamos ver más calzado porque estos son todos un poco decepcionantes. Los de Frida recuerdan mucho a Prada. ¿Y lo que más me ha gustado? La blusa naranja de Karlie, el vestido blanco de Frida. También tuve la oportunidad de ojear la bisutería de este año y tiene una pinta estupenda!!

Trends Report: Clutches

Clutches have been on scene for quite a long time -if they ever left- but there a few trends to keep in mind this season. Thanks to Phoebe Philo, Céline hit the spot and every bag from la maison became a desired target or an it-bag. We weren't even over with the boston tote fever -was that before or after the box bag fever?- when the clutch pouch started to be seen in every editor or fashionista hands. After that, we didn't have to wait much for affordable options from Asos or Zara. In fact I got myself the two tone leather clutch from Zara. And yes, Mrs Philo is also the one to blame for the two tones trend. Los clutches llevan entre nosotras bastante tiempo -si es que alguna vez se fueron- pero esta temporada hay que tener en mente unas cuantas tendencias a seguir. Gracias a Phoebe Philo, Céline da en el clavo y cada bolso de la maison se convierte así en objeto de deseo o en el it-bag del momento. Cuando aun no nos habíamos recuperado de la fiebre del boston tote -que no se si fue antes o despues de la del box bag- comienza a verse en manos de editorias y fashionistas del mundillo en general el clutch tipo estuche. Después de eso, no hubo que esperar demasiado a las alternativas asequibles de Zara o Asos. De hecho, yo me hice con el mio de Zara, en piel y dos tonos. Y sí, la señora Philo también es culpable de esto de los dos tonos.

I confess oversized clutches are my favourite ones! I'm not sure who's the one to blame, but I remember seeing them a lot in SATC -specially Samantha- and always loved them since then. There is a gorgeous one in Asos -I've also seen it in turquoise and its even more fabulous- and for higher budgets, Carrie's is an old Prada. Confieso que mis favoritos son los oversized. No estoy segura de a quien culpar en este caso, pero yo recuerdo verlos mucho en Sexo en NY -sobre todo a Samantha- y me encantan desde entonces. En Asos encontramos uno precioso -lo he visto en turquesa y es más genial aún- y para los presupuestos más elevados el de Carrie es un antiguo Prada.

So remember, pouch style, oversized, two tones color or just a bright one. They're comfortable, they're chic and no outfit is complete without it! Así que recuerda, de estuche, oversized, dos colores o uno solo pero llamativo. Son comodos, chic y ningún conjunto está completo sin ellos!
